Brain Health and Heart Health for “Clarity & Vitality”: This mini-series will introduce the major areas of integrative medicine and their integral roles in women’s cognitive and cardiovascular wellness. Learn the latest evidence-based medicine about the role of nutrition, lifestyle, dietary supplements, botanicals, conventional and functional lab tests, and integrative medicine modalities in the medical management of cognitive difficulties, insulin resistance/prediabetes/diabetes, hypertension, and hyperlipidemia. Research, resources, and practical tips related to nutrition, culinary medicine, fitness, sleep, stress management, botanicals, and supplements will be discussed. Bone Health and Hormonal Balance for “Strength and Grace”: Learn about safe and effective integrative modalities to improve osteopenia and osteoporosis. Learn about perimenopause and menopause (age 35+) and the connection to bone health with clinical evidence for improving the mentality around and the signs and symptoms of this natural shift. Add to your culinary repertoire and explore various supplements including black cohosh, flaxseed, wild yam and more! Learn which foods and exercises are best for strengthening bone. This session will cover the potential benefits of lifestyle and integrative approaches in managing common distressing and lifedisrupting symptoms such as hot flashes, mood changes, insomnia, breast tenderness, bloating, brain fog. Thyroid Health & Adrenal Health for “Vibrancy and Calm”: Integrative/Functional Medicine employs the best of conventional and traditional medicine in the treatment of symptoms and conditions associated with thyroid and adrenal health. In this session, you will learn about the role of nutrition, lifestyle, vitamins, supplements, botanicals in optimal thyroid health and adrenal health. Practical hands-on information will be offered on how to manage Hashimoto’s Autoimmune Thyroiditis, PCOS, and also to address common symptoms such has weight, hair thinning/hirsutism, temperature instability, acne, and menstrual irregularities. Menstrual Health and Genitourinary Health for “Resiliency and Comfort”: Personalized medicine and the whole person approach are at the root of integrative and functional medicine. This session will apply these principles to feminine care. We will discuss nutritional, lifestyle, botanical, and other integrative functional approaches to support menstrual and genitourinary comfort. Conditions such as PMS, PMDD, endometriosis, recurrent UTI, as well as common symptoms such as dysmenorrhea, vaginal dryness will be addressed. Come away with tips and tools for managing a variety of common symptoms of our female ecosystem.
