Qi Gong (pronounced chee goong) is an ancient system of exercises similar to Tai Chi. It includes a unique combination of gentle stretching, relaxed breathing, low impact conditioning and balance training through standing and sitting positions. It also includes mindfulness practice which helps to cultivate self-compassion and kindness as an integral part of our journey towards healthier living and healing. This class is designed and instructed by Joe Russo, P.T., Clinical Specialist in Complementary Medicine at New-York Presbyterian Hospital, who has many years of experience with patients with a wide variety of health conditions, integrating Mindfulness, Qi Gong and Tai Chi into practical wellness programs.
