Advances in cardiovascular medicine and technology evolve at a rapid pace and directly affect clinical guidelines. Physicians and allied health professionals need continuous updates on the most recent guidelines to offer their patients innovative treatment. In a busy clinical practice, it can be a challenge to stay abreast with the most recent advances and guidelines. This NYP Queens Division of Cardiology continuing medical education program will provide community clinicians and allied health professionals with the latest guidelines that are clinically relevant in cardiovascular medicine and practice. Program attendees will have an opportunity to enhance clinical knowledge and expertise, and interact with the program faculty of renowned practitioners and educators.
Objectives:
It is intended that this NewYork-Presbyterian Queens continuing medical education activity will lead to improved patient care. At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
• Discuss the role of point of care cardiac testing in the evaluation in the acute care setting.
• Discuss the management of the Occlusion Myocardial Infarction from community to Emergency Room.
• Identify the elderly patient that would benefit from Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery and who would not benefit.
• Identify the new guidelines and preoperative assessment for non-cardiac surgery.
• Identification, management of a patient with a Patent Foramen Ovale and Therapeutic options.
• Learn the recognition and management of Cardiac Amyloidosis.
• Explain the benefits and indications of Left Bundle Pacing and Leadless Pacemakers.
