This course provides a yearly comprehensive review of the field of cerebrovascular disease and covers epidemiology, diagnosis, acute management, secondary prevention, and rehabilitation.

This educational activity is primarily targeted at neurologists, neurosurgeons, interventional neuroradiologists, cardiologists, primary care physicians, and emergency department physicians. Stroke team members, including nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, and other providers treating stroke patients, will also benefit from this conference.

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be better able to:

• Recognize diagnostic challenges and modern advances in prehospital stroke care.
• Describe the evidence behind different antithrombotic treatment options for stroke prevention in patients with high-risk comorbidities, including history of atrial fibrillation with intracerebral hemorrhage, cardiomyopathy, and thrombophilias.
• Analyze the safety and efficacy of endovascular therapy for medium or distal vessel occlusions.
• Review the epidemiology, pathophysiology, and optimal treatments for patients with central nervous system vasculopathies.
• Discuss modern advances in the management of different subtypes of intracranial hemorrhage.
