About this Event
436 East 69th Street New York, NY 10065 3rd Floor
https://www.nyp.org/integrative-health-program/eventsIn these classes led by Dr. Lee and Lisa Tatham, you’ll learn about patterns that result from muscles that have become chronically tight. These patterns can make daily movements harder, cause pain in the body, and even affect your balance. Together, we will explore Hanna Somatic Exercises that can help you come out of pain and regain ease and joy in movement. You’ll discover how to use your brain to reset your muscles along with breathing practices to help maintain relaxation.
You may join us for a single class or multiple classes. Each class has been created to address common complaints like soreness in the neck and shoulders or pain in the low back. You will be provided with a written copy of the exercises we do together to assist you in continuing your practice. Links to video and audio guides will also be provided for your convenience.
The movements in this course are often done lying on the floor and can also be done from a chair. All you need is yourself. Hanna Somatic Education offers a safe, gentle, and intuitive approach to learning how to relax tight and painful muscles.
This series is co-presented by Bianca Lee, a board-certified neuromusculoskeletal medicine (NMM) specialist, and Lisa Tatham, a certified Hanna Somatic Educator.
